I woke up around 6am feeling well rested, so I got up and
did some writing while Cody slept in. Unfortunately the wifi in the cabin was
terrible, but I still felt pretty productive! Once Cody got up we made coffee
and watched 101 Dalmatians.
After a relaxing morning we finally got out the door to go
for a walk in the rain. There was a fish hatchery just down the road, and we
had a look around but there wasn’t much to see other than a ton of mosquitoes.
We headed back to the cabin for lunch and Cody made toasted bagels with eggs.
As soon as we finished eating we headed back out for a hike.
We discovered a trail that started right behind the fish hatchery that took us
along the railroad and the river. It was so beautiful and so green! We also
spotted an eagle and a few other interesting birds. We found a cave with a tiny
entrance that we had to crouch down to get through! It was filled with some modern
day hieroglyphics.
We did lots of exploring and hiked for quite a while. When
we got back to the cabin we were in the mood to just snack and watch movies! We
got the fire going and had a really cozy evening. For dinner Cody made grilled
cheese sandwiches and salad, and then before bed we made smores! We used
Reese’s peanut butter cups as the chocolate and they turned out super
delicious!
We had such a great weekend at the cabin, I wish we could
have stayed for more than two nights!
