A Few Days at a Cabin in the Woods | Terrace Days 4-6

We got up bright and early to get ready for a trip to Cody’s family’s cabin, which is off-the-grid and can only be reached by boat. It was a beautiful boat ride up the Kasiks River. We were completed isolated; no other humans around. The landscape was so green and mountainous! I felt truly out in nature. I even saw a bear running up the beach into some bushes.

Cape Kiwanda | Oregon Journal

My dad and I got up at 6am to get the most out of our second day in Oregon. After a quick breakfast we drove from Portland to the Oregon Coast. We took a very scenic route through the country and it was so beautiful. After a couple hours of driving, we arrived at Cape Kiwanda.

Portland Food Trucks | Oregon Journal

After a mini roadtrip from Vancouver, my dad and I arrived in Portland. We spent the afternoon exploring the city and enjoying the sights. My dad took lots of pictures (photo credit for most of the photos in this post goes to him), while all I could focus on was getting a snack.

Oregon Journal | 2015

I went for a father-daughter roadtrip to Oregon back in October and I would like to share excerpts from my travel journal. I think over the next few weeks I’ll post pictures and stories from our journey. It was an amazing trip and I felt so special sharing this adventure with my dad.

We had five days and we crammed so much in that it felt like a much longer trip than it really was. October was a great time for this kind of trip. The weather was good for the most part, and some days were so unseasonably warm that it felt like summer. The touristy sights were busy, but not as busy as they would have been over the summer.

I’m very excited to share our experiences, so please stay tuned!

Granville Island | Vancouver

Over the weekend I went to Granville Island with my dad and sister. We did lots of window shopping and browsing, just taking in the sights and enjoying the Christmas vibe! It was very busy, so I would recommend going on a weekday rather than a weekend, but it was still fun with all the hustle and bustle of holiday shoppers.
